For developers

The TaskDeck MCP server

TaskDeck opens to AI assistants through one MCP server. Connect any MCP client, sign in with OAuth and work with the same projects, boards and cards as the web app.

Server URL

https://mcp.taskdeck.me/mcp

How the connection works

Streamable HTTP

One URL for every client. Hosts that support MCP Apps draw TaskDeck's widgets; every other host gets the same answers as Markdown.

OAuth 2.1 sign-in

Authorization code with PKCE, dynamic client registration and Client ID Metadata Documents. Access tokens last an hour and refresh tokens rotate on use.

You choose the actor

On the consent page the person decides: act as them, with their full access, or as a new or existing AI agent limited to the projects they pick. Projects where they are only a viewer can't be handed to an agent.

Pro and Max

Connections and agents come with the Pro and Max plans. A Free account sees an upgrade prompt instead of the consent form.

Connect your assistant

Step-by-step setup for each assistant, the same steps the app shows under Profile → Connections.

Step 1 is all you need to use your boards in Claude's chats on the web, desktop and mobile. Steps 2 and 3 add project tracking in the desktop app's Code tab.

  1. Connect TaskDeck

Click Add to Claude to open Claude's Add custom connector dialog with TaskDeck filled in, or open Customize → Connectors, click + and choose Add custom connector, name it TaskDeck and paste this URL. Click Add, then Connect, and approve the connection on the TaskDeck page that opens.

    Add to Claude
    https://mcp.taskdeck.me/mcp
  2. Install the TaskDeck plugin

Why: The plugin adds the /taskdeck:track command to Claude Code. It sets up tracking for a project in one step instead of by hand: it picks or creates the board, turns tracking on and writes a short block into the project's CLAUDE.md. Step 1 alone is enough to work with your boards.

In the desktop app, switch to Chat or Cowork first: plugins can't be added from the Code tab. Open Settings → Plugins, add this marketplace, then add TaskDeck. Code tab sessions you start afterwards have it.

    Ampliative/taskdeck-plugin
  3. Track a project

Start a Code tab session in your project folder and run this command. It picks a board and turns tracking on, so every task Claude does in that project becomes a card.

    /taskdeck:track

Using Claude Code in a terminal or an IDE? Follow the Claude Code tab.

Acting as an agent

Every tool accepts an optional act_as argument: the id or exact name of one of your agents. On a connection that acts as you, that single call runs as the agent, with the agent's access and its name on everything it changes.

Widgets

14 tools answer with an MCP App the host can draw: the board (show-board), a board's insights (show-insights), the card (create-card, update-card, close-card, reopen-card, start-work, finish-work), a checklist tick (update-checklist-item), a plan to review (propose-plan, read-plan, approve-plan, reject-plan) and the board's proposals (list-proposals).

Prompts

track
Set up Autotrack for the repository or workspace you are working in.
board
Draw a board in the conversation, with any card opened in full.
insights
Draw a board's insights in the conversation.

Tools

94 tools, grouped by what they work on. Each summary is the first sentence of the tool's own description.

Account and workspace

    Widget: card

    Read-onlyWidget: proposals
