Your coding agent keeps the board up to date as it works.
Track a repository once, and each task your agent takes on becomes a card: the reason and acceptance criteria up front, progress as comments, commits linked, and the card moved on when the work is verified.
From a task to a finished card
Autotrack is a short agreement between your agent and the board, written into the instructions your agent reads in the repository.
start-work opens the card
Before it changes anything, the agent calls start-work with a title, why the work is needed and its acceptance criteria. TaskDeck looks for an open card that already covers the work, then creates the card with the criteria as its checklist, today as its start date, and moves it to the working column.
The card keeps the record
As it works, the agent comments on the card: the approach it chose, the files it changed, the commands it ran and what they returned. It ticks each criterion the moment it is verified.
Commits link themselves
A commit whose message names the card key links to the card. A key in a pull request’s branch, title or description links it too, and merging it moves the card to the done column. This needs GitHub or GitLab connected to the project.
finish-work closes the loop
When the work is verified, finish-work ticks the criteria it names, posts the notes and links as a verification comment, and moves the card to the review column, or to done on a board without one. It refuses while a criterion is still unverified.
Watch the work happen, right in the chat.
Ask for a task and your assistant opens a card with its checklist, ticks each item as the work gets done, and moves the card to review, or to done, when it is finished. Ask for the board and it's all there.
Opened ACM-24 with three criteria. Pulling together everything that changed since 2.3.
Done. ACM-24 is in review, every criterion ticked and the verification notes on the card.
ACM-24 is waiting in review for someone to check. Three cards are still in progress, and ACM-12 is waiting for another card.
Sample data. Claude and ChatGPT both support MCP Apps, which is how TaskDeck's card, checklist and board widgets appear in the chat; an assistant without it gets the same answers as text.
Every card follows the board’s rules
The rules are chosen once, when you set up tracking, so every card the agent opens is complete. These are the defaults.
An estimate and a deadline
Each card needs an estimate, and its deadline follows from it: one working day for every eight hours of work, counted from the day after it starts, weekends skipped.
A kind tag
At least one tag such as bug, feature or chore. On a board that tracks several repositories, the repository’s tag is added for you.
The right people
Cards are assigned to whoever does the work and report to whoever asked for it.
No duplicates
When an open card already looks like the same work, start-work shows it and creates nothing, so the agent continues that card instead.
Set it up in a repository
Connect your assistant to TaskDeck, then track the project from the folder you work in. Setup previews the board it will use, creates the project and board when they don’t exist yet, and writes the Autotrack block into CLAUDE.md, and into AGENTS.md when the project has one or the assistant reads it, as Codex does.
In Claude Code, one command
The TaskDeck plugin adds /taskdeck:track. It connects TaskDeck if it isn’t yet, checks that the connection acts as you, reads the repository’s remotes, previews the board and writes the block.
In Codex, Cursor and Gemini CLI
Ask your assistant to track this project on TaskDeck. It runs the same setup, step by step.
Step 1 is all you need to use your boards in Claude's chats on the web, desktop and mobile. Steps 2 and 3 add project tracking in the desktop app's Code tab.
Connect TaskDeck
Click Add to Claude to open Claude's Add custom connector dialog with TaskDeck filled in, or open Customize → Connectors, click + and choose Add custom connector, name it TaskDeck and paste this URL. Click Add, then Connect, and approve the connection on the TaskDeck page that opens.
Add to Claudehttps://mcp.taskdeck.me/mcpInstall the TaskDeck plugin
Why: The plugin adds the /taskdeck:track command to Claude Code. It sets up tracking for a project in one step instead of by hand: it picks or creates the board, turns tracking on and writes a short block into the project's CLAUDE.md. Step 1 alone is enough to work with your boards.
In the desktop app, switch to Chat or Cowork first: plugins can't be added from the Code tab. Open Settings → Plugins, add this marketplace, then add TaskDeck. Code tab sessions you start afterwards have it.
Ampliative/taskdeck-pluginTrack a project
Start a Code tab session in your project folder and run this command. It picks a board and turns tracking on, so every task Claude does in that project becomes a card.
/taskdeck:track

Good to know
- Questions, exploration and one-off commands that change nothing need no card.
- Tracking is set up by a connection that acts as you. The work can then be credited to you or to one of your AI agents.
- Any git host works, or none. Linking commits and pull requests needs GitHub or GitLab connected to the project.
- A commit that names a card only links to it. Only a merged pull request moves a card.
- Any assistant connected over MCP can start and finish work on a tracked board.
- AI connections, and with them Autotrack, are on the Pro and Max plans.

Questions about Autotrack
Does every message to my agent become a card?
No. The agent opens a card when it starts a task that changes something. Questions, exploration and one-off commands that change nothing need no card.
What if there is already a card for the work?
start-work looks for an open card that covers the same work. If it finds one, it shows it and creates nothing, and the agent continues that card.
Which assistants can use it?
Claude Code sets it up with the /taskdeck:track command from the TaskDeck plugin. In Codex, Cursor and Gemini CLI you ask the assistant to track the project. Any assistant connected to TaskDeck over MCP can start and finish work on a tracked board.
Does a commit move the card?
No. A commit that names the card links to it. Merging a pull request that names the card moves it to the done column.
Which plans include Autotrack?
Pro and Max. The Free plan doesn’t include AI assistant connections.
