TaskDeck vs Jira
Questions about TaskDeck and Jira
Is TaskDeck a Jira alternative for small teams?
For a small team that wants boards, sprints and Git links without configuring workflows, it can be. Jira does much more for larger organisations: planning across teams, enterprise administration and thousands of Marketplace apps.
How do the prices compare?
Jira bills each user: for a team of 10, Standard is $9.05 per user a month billed monthly, or $900 a year. TaskDeck bills the account: Pro is $9 a month, or $90 a year, with unlimited teammates. Both have a free plan: Jira's covers up to 10 users, TaskDeck's one project with unlimited teammates.
Does a merged pull request move the Jira work item?
Not by default. Jira links work items named in branches, commits and pull request titles, and moving one on merge is set up with workflow triggers, automation rules or Smart Commits. TaskDeck moves the card to done when a pull request that names it merges.
Can AI assistants work with Jira?
Yes. On Standard and above you can assign work items to AI agents, Atlassian's own or coding agents such as Claude, Cursor and GitHub Copilot. Assistants connect through the Rovo MCP Server, whose calls can use Rovo credits. The pricing page lists it on paid plans, and Atlassian's MCP page says every Cloud customer has access, with 500 calls an hour on Free. TaskDeck's MCP server works on Pro and Max, a card can be handed to a Claude Code or Codex routine from its button, an @mention or an automation, and a batch of an agent's changes can wait for approval.
Can I move my Jira work to TaskDeck?
Yes. A project admin can import a Jira Cloud project into a new TaskDeck board with the account's email and an API token, on every plan. Statuses become columns, and issues come over with their descriptions, due dates, original estimates, labels and comments, with subtasks as child cards; done issues come only if you ask.
