The TaskDeck MCP server
TaskDeck opens to AI assistants through one MCP server. Connect any MCP client, sign in with OAuth and work with the same projects, boards and cards as the web app.
Server URL
https://mcp.taskdeck.me/mcpHow the connection works
Streamable HTTP
One URL for every client. Hosts that support MCP Apps draw TaskDeck's widgets; every other host gets the same answers as Markdown.
OAuth 2.1 sign-in
Authorization code with PKCE, dynamic client registration and Client ID Metadata Documents. Access tokens last an hour and refresh tokens rotate on use.
You choose the actor
On the consent page the person decides: act as them, with their full access, or as a new or existing AI agent limited to the projects they pick. Projects where they are only a viewer can't be handed to an agent.
Pro and Max
Connections and agents come with the Pro and Max plans. A Free account sees an upgrade prompt instead of the consent form.
Connect your assistant
Step-by-step setup for each assistant, the same steps the app shows under Profile → Connections.
Step 1 is all you need to use your boards in Claude's chats on the web, desktop and mobile. Steps 2 and 3 add project tracking in the desktop app's Code tab.
Connect TaskDeck
Click Add to Claude to open Claude's Add custom connector dialog with TaskDeck filled in, or open Customize → Connectors, click + and choose Add custom connector, name it TaskDeck and paste this URL. Click Add, then Connect, and approve the connection on the TaskDeck page that opens.
Add to Claudehttps://mcp.taskdeck.me/mcpInstall the TaskDeck plugin
Why: The plugin adds the /taskdeck:track command to Claude Code. It sets up tracking for a project in one step instead of by hand: it picks or creates the board, turns tracking on and writes a short block into the project's CLAUDE.md. Step 1 alone is enough to work with your boards.
In the desktop app, switch to Chat or Cowork first: plugins can't be added from the Code tab. Open Settings → Plugins, add this marketplace, then add TaskDeck. Code tab sessions you start afterwards have it.
Ampliative/taskdeck-pluginTrack a project
Start a Code tab session in your project folder and run this command. It picks a board and turns tracking on, so every task Claude does in that project becomes a card.
/taskdeck:track
Using Claude Code in a terminal or an IDE? Follow the Claude Code tab.
Acting as an agent
Every tool accepts an optional act_as argument: the id or exact name of one of your agents. On a connection that acts as you, that single call runs as the agent, with the agent's access and its name on everything it changes.
Widgets
14 tools answer with an MCP App the host can draw: the board (show-board), a board's insights (show-insights), the card (create-card, update-card, close-card, reopen-card, start-work, finish-work), a checklist tick (update-checklist-item), a plan to review (propose-plan, read-plan, approve-plan, reject-plan) and the board's proposals (list-proposals).

Tools
94 tools, grouped by what they work on. Each summary is the first sentence of the tool's own description.
Account and workspace
who-am-iIdentify the TaskDeck account this connection is acting as, and whether it acts as the person who authorized it (their full access) or as a restricted AI agent account.
Read-onlyworkspace-overviewList every TaskDeck project and board this account can see, with each board's columns (the Closed column marked system: "closed"), open card count and last activity.
Read-onlymy-planThe plan this account is on, its limits and how much of them is used.
Read-onlydaily-digestWhat this account did on its cards on a day or over a range of days, grouped by board — the material for a standup or a daily summary.
Read-onlylist-activityThe activity feed: who did what, when, across the projects this account is in.
Read-onlylist-notificationsThis account's notifications, newest first, with whether each has been read, and how many are unread in all.
Read-onlymark-notifications-readMark one notification read, or all of them when no id is given.
delete-notificationsDelete one notification, or every notification of this account when no id is given.
Destructiveget-settingsThis account's notification settings: which events notify it.
Read-onlyupdate-settingTurn one of this account's notification settings on or off.
update-profileChange this account's display name or interface language.
AI agents
list-agentsList the AI agents this account owns: id, name, whether suspended, the projects each is a member of, and how many live connections act as it.
Read-onlycreate-agentCreate an AI agent account owned by this account, optionally making it a member of projects right away (project ids from workspace-overview; only projects where you are more than a viewer).
grant-agent-projectsMake one of your AI agents a member of more projects, so act_as can use it there.
Autotrack
track-repositoryTurn on Autotrack for a repository: every task the assistant does there becomes a card on one board.
start-workStart a piece of work on a tracked board; call it before changing anything.
Widget: cardfinish-workFinish a piece of work on a tracked board once it is verified: ticks the criteria you name as verified, posts the verification notes and links as a comment, and moves the card to the review column when the board has one and to the done column otherwise.
Widget: cardhand-back-cardOnly for an AI routine session, Claude Code or Codex, that TaskDeck handed a card to, when its run ends without finish-work: blocked, out of time, or unable to do the work.
Projects, members and invitations

update-projectRename a project or change its description.
delete-projectDelete a project with every board, column, card, comment and attachment in it.
Destructivelist-membersList who is in a project, with their user id and role.

decline-invitationDecline a project invitation addressed to this account.
Repositories
list-repositoriesThe GitHub repositories and GitLab projects connected to a project, and the ones that could be connected: what the project's own GitHub connection sees, and what its GitLab connection may add webhooks to.
Read-onlyconnect-repositoriesConnect GitHub repositories or GitLab projects to a project, by the repository ids list-repositories shows as available, one provider per call.
disconnect-repositoryDisconnect a GitHub repository or GitLab project from its project, removing the webhook TaskDeck added on GitLab.

Boards, columns and automations
create-boardCreate a board in a project, ready to hold cards.
update-boardRename a board, change its description or its icon, change the prefix its card keys use, or change its rules for how cards started by an assistant are filled in (tags, tag_names, estimate, deadline, assignee, reporter, observer).
delete-boardDelete a board with all of its columns and cards.
Destructivecreate-columnAdd a column to the end of a board.
update-columnRename a column, recolour it, move it after another column on the same board, set how many days cards wait in it before being archived, or give it a role in the board's flow (todo, doing, review or done; a role held by another column moves to this one).
delete-columnDelete a column and every card in it.
Destructivecreate-automationAdd an automation to a board: when a card moves from one of the from columns to one of the to columns and every condition holds, its actions run on the card in order, with the board's authority.
update-automationChange a board automation: rename it, switch it off or on, or rewrite its trigger columns, conditions or actions.
reorder-automationsPut a board's automations in the order they should run: name every one of them once, first to run first.
delete-automationDelete a board automation.

Cards
show-boardShow a board to the person: its columns with their counts and cards, who holds what, and any card opened in full.
Read-onlyWidget: boardshow-insightsShow a board's insights to the person: cards created and finished per day, how many are open, sent back, overdue or due within seven days, and the median hours cards spend in each column, over the last 30 days.
Read-onlyWidget: insightslist-cardsList the cards on a board, or in one column, in board order.
Read-onlysearch-cardsSearch cards by title and description across every board this account can see, best match first.
Read-onlyread-cardRead one card in full: title, description as Markdown, column, board, assignee, reporter, observer, estimate, dates, tags, checklist (each item with its id and who checked it), what it is waiting for and what is waiting for it, its parent, children and related cards, attachments, comment count, the AI routine sessions (Claude Code or Codex) it was handed to, and the lock one of them holds on it.
Read-onlycreate-cardCreate a card on a board.
Widget: cardupdate-cardChange a card: retitle it, rewrite its description (Markdown, replacing the whole text — read-card first to keep what is there), assign it, set reporter, observer, estimate or dates, move it to another column on the same board, or place it after another card.
